Goat Anti-Relaxin 1 (RLN1, Relaxin 1, H1, Prorelaxin H1, RLXH1)
Human Relaxin-1/H1 is a 6kD member of the insulin/Relaxin gene superfamily. Relaxin-1 is synthesized as a 185 amino acid (aa) preprohormone that is proteolytically processed into a nonglycosylated, disulfide-linked, 53 aa mature heterodimer that contains a 29 aa B chain (aa 25-53) and a 24 aa A chain (aa 161-185). An alternate splice form of human Relaxin-2 is known that contains the B chain and an uncleaved 47 aa extension. Mature human Relaxin-1 heterodimer is 48%, 44% and 43% aa identical to rat, dog and pig Relaxin-2, respectively.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to Lys26-Cys185 from human Relaxin-1, expressed in E. coli.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized power in PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with 500ul sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognize human Relaxin-1. In direct ELISAs, this antibody shows less than 5% cross-reactivity with rhRelaxin-2 and rhRelaxin-3.
