Goat Anti-Streptococcus Group A (Biotin)

Group A streptococci, cause a wide-range of disease in humans, from mild sore throats to life-threatening invasive disease such as necrotising fasciitis. Streptococcus pyogenes (a group A Streptococcus) is one of the most important pathogens encountered in clinical practice. Group A streptococci (GAS) are gram-positive, non-motile, non-spore-forming organisms that appear as pairs or short-to-moderate-sized chains.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Streptococci, group A
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide. No stabilizing proteins have been added. Labeled with Biotin.
Purity
Purified from the antiserum via immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes type specific carbohydrate of group A Streptococcus. Does not react with other Strep groups. Functions both as capture and reporter antibody. Conjugates well with colloidal gold.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
