Rabbit Anti-Superoxide Dismutase 1 (SOD1)

Superoxide Dismutase 1 (SwissProt P00441) is a major antioxidant enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of superoxide anion to hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. SOD1 is ubiquitously expressed and is localized in the cytosol, nucleus, and mitochondrial intermembrane space. Defects in SOD1 are the cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 1 (ALS1).

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: 0.03-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to human superoxide dismutase 1, conjugated to KLH.. Species Sequence Homology: mouse, rat, porcine, equine, bovine, bornean orangatan, chimpanzee and fisson yeast
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.02% sodium azide, 30% glycerol.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes endogenous level of human superoxide dismutase 1

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
