Sheep Anti-Syntaxin 6 (STX6)

STX6 (Syntaxin 6) is a 30-35kD member of the syntaxin family of proteins. It is widely expressed, embedded in trans-Golgi and endosomal membranes, and is associated with a variety of SNARE proteins. STX6 is involved in the regulation of caveolae-dependent endocytosis, and is crucial for membrane remodeling. Human STX6 is a type IV single-pass transmembrane protein (very long cytoplasmic N-terminus) that is 255 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains a coiled-coil region (aa 41-74), a t-SNARE domain (aa 163-225) that is likely involved in protein-protein interactions, and a C-terminal transmembrane sequence. There are two splice variants that are also 255 aa in length, but show variation over aa 69-73. Over aa 69-217, human STX6 shares 93% aa identity with mouse STX6.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human Syntaxin 6 Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Purified, E. coli-derived, recombinant human Syntaxin 6 (rhSyntaxin 6; aa 69-217; Accession# O43752).
Form
Supplied as lyophilized from a 0.2um sterile-filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose. Reconstitute in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.|
Specificity
Recognizes human Syntaxin 6.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
