Mouse Anti-Thyroxine (T4)

Thyroxine (T4) a thyroid hormone exerts a potent influence on the basal metabolic rate. Synthesized from the tyrosine residues of thyroglobin and is found in the serum of normal individuals. The L-form is twice as active physiologically as the racemic product, the D-form has very little activity.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma
Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Purified thyroxine, conjugated with BSA.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 10mM Tris, pH 7.5, 0.15M sodium chloride, 0.05% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Ion Exchange chromatography from ascites.
Specificity
Recognizes Thyroxine (T4). Reacts with the T4-BSA conjugate and free thyroxine. Reactivity with L-Thyroxine is 100% and with D-Thyroxine is 30%. Crossreactivity with Triiodothyronine (T3) is <1%.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
