Mouse Anti-Titin (Connectin, TTN)
Connectin/Titin is an ~ megadalton (MD) elastic filamentous protein of striated muscle sarcomeres. One connectin molecule spans from the Z line to the M line on the myosin filament in a half sarcomere, thus forming the third filament in addition to the myosin and actin filaments in a sarcomere. Connectin filaments position the myosin filaments at the center of a sarcomere as a spring and are responsible for passive tension generation when sarcomeres are stretched.
