Mouse Anti-Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGFb1, TGF-beta-1, TGFB1, TGFB)

TGFb1 (Transforming Growth Factor-beta1) is a family of multifunctional 25kD proteins. TGFb1 was originally identified for its ability to induce the growth of normal rodent fibroblasts in soft agar. It is now known that TGFb1 is a potent growth inhibitor of many normal and transformed cell lines. It regulates normal cell growth, development and tissue remodeling following injury. TGFb1 is produced as latent high molecular weight complexes. The activation of latent TGFb1 is an important step in the regulation of its action.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 1x10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Has been successfully used on FFPE tissue without pre-treatment. Can use citrate, pH 6, EDTA, pH 8, or pepsin mediated antigen retrival. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended Secondary Antibodies
I1904-04D: IgG, H&L (AP) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06F: IgG, H&L (FITC) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt xMo
Recommended Negative Control
I1904-78R: IgG1 Murine Negative Control
Immunohistochemistry Postivie Control
Human Breat Carcinoma
Hybridoma
SP2/0-Ag 14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Human Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 from platelets.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human platelet-derived and recombinant Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 in ELISA. Demonstrates neutralizing activity against TGF-beta1 in cell proliferation assays. Demonstrated to react with dimeric (25kD) or monomeric (12.5kD) molecules of natural TGFb1 under non-reducing and reducing conditions respectively. Species Crossreactivity: rat, sheep, mustelid, rabbit, mouse, mink

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
