Mouse Anti-Urokinase Plasminogen Activator (uPA) (MaxLight 490)

MaxLight™490 is a new Blue-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™488, Alexa Fluor™488 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (491nm); Emission (515nm); Extinction Coefficient 73,000.

Urokinase Plasminogen Acitivator is a serine protease (SERPIN) that converts plasminogen into the active protease plasmin. uPA is secreted from cells as an inactive ~55kDa precursor which is activated to the two-chain form consisting of an A and B-chain. The active high MW form is further processed by removal of an amino-terminal fragment to an active low MW form (~35kDa). uPA is a serine protease that activates plasminogen to plasmin. uPA is involved in the degradation of the vascular basement membrane and extracellular matrix. By catalyzing plasmin formation, the uPA can generate widespread extracellular proteolysis and thereby play an important role in physiological and pathological processes. High levels of uPA and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1) in breast cancer tissue extracts have been associated with rapid disease progression. The malignant phenotype of prostatic tumor cells correlates with the expression of both uPA and its cell-membrane receptor (uPAR).
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and FLISA. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™490 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
