Rabbit Anti-VMAT2 (Slc18a2, Solute carrier family 18 (vesicular monoamine) member 2, SVAT, SVMT, Synaptic vesicle amine transporter brain, Synaptic vesicle monoamine transporter brain, VAT2, Vesicular amine transporter 2, Vesicular monoamine transporter 2, VMAT2)) (Not for Export EU)
The vesicular monoamine transporter is responsible for the vesicular uptake of monoamines, like dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, serotonin and histamine.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections): 1:800-1:1200 using FITC. Incubation time overnight at 4°C. Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Dilute after reconstitution with 0.15M PBS, 1% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended Positive Control
Frozen sections of rat small intestine.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide [CQSYPIGDDEESESD-OH] from the C-terminus of rat VMAT2 conjugated to BSA.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 0.15M PBS, 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 100ul sterile ddH2O.
Specificity
Recognizes rat VMAT2. Recognizes monoaminergic neurons of the CNS, the ECL-cells of the stomach, as well as enteric nerve fibers. Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Species Crossreactivity: Guinea pig (in fundus tissue, only positive on nerve fibers; endocrine cells are negative); most mammals including human, canine, mouse, hamster, as well as chicken and frog. Negative with porcine intestinal tissue.
