Vimentin is the main intermediate filament protein in mesenchymal cells and is therefore of value in the differential diagnosis of undifferentiated neoplasms.

Applications
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50 for 20 minute at RT. Requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minutes. followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.2% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from ascites.
Specificity
Recognizes porcine Vimetin, a 57-60kD protein. Species Crossreactivity: human, monkey, bovine, equine, rabbit, canine, feline, rat, mouse, hamster, gerbil and chicken.
