Mouse Anti-Vitellogenin (carp)

Vitellogenin (Vg) is an egg yolk precursor protein expressed in female fish, dormant in male fish and female insects, but in the presence of estrogenic endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), males can express the Vg gene in a dose dependent manner. The use of Vg gene expression in male fish can be used as a molecular marker of exposure to estrogenic EDCs.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: 1:100-1:1000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Vitellogenin from plasma of 17β-estradiol treated striped bass (Morone saxatilis), brown bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) and common carp (Cyprinus carpio).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 1% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes vitellogenin from common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Cross-reacts with vitellogenin from fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas), zebrafish (Danio rerio), goldfish (Carassiu auratus), mullet (Mugil sp.), pinfish (Lagodon rhomboides), and sucker (Catastomidea sp.). Does not cross-react with vitellogenin from striped bass (Morone saxatilis) or brown bullhead (lctalurus nebulosus).

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
