Goat Anti-ZO-1 (Tight junction protein 1, Tight junction protein ZO-1, ZO1, ZO-1, Zona Occludens 1 Protein, Zonula Occludens 1 Protein)
zonula occludens 1 protein, zona occludens 1, tight junction protein ZO-1, tight junction protein 1, OTTHUMP00000174520, ZO-1, MGC133289, DKFZp686M05161, tight junction protein 1 (zona occludens 1), TJP1
ZO-1 is a protein located on a cytoplasmic membrane surface of intercellular tight junctions. It may be involved in signal transduction at cell-cell junctions. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: 1:128,000 Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml detects an ~170kD band observed in human brain (cerebral cortex) lysates (calculated MW of 187kD according to NP_783297.2). Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-PKPTSQNQFSEHDKT, from the internal region of human ZO-1 (NP_003248.3; NP_783297.2).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human ZO-1. Expected to recognize both reported isoforms (NP_003248.3; NP_783297.2).
