β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (β-NMN)
3-(Aminocarbonyl)-1-(5-O-phosphono-β-D-ribofuranosyl)pyridinium Inner Salt;|3-Carbamoyl-1-β-D-ribofuranosylpyridinium Hydroxide, 5'-Phosphate Inner Salt; NMN; Nicotinamide Mononucleotide; Nicotinamide Ribonucleoside 5'-Phosphate; Nicotinamide Ribonucleotide; Nicotinamide Ribotide; β-D-NMN; β-NMN; β-Nicotinamide ribose monophosphate, NMN, Nicotinamide ribotide, Nicotinamide-1-ium-1-β-D-ribofuranoside 5′-phosphate

A product of the extracellular Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (eNAMPT) reaction and a key NAD+ intermediate. It ameliorates glucose intolerance by restoring NAD+ levels in HFD-induced T2D mice. It also enhances hepatic insulin sensitivity and restores gene expression related to oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and circadian rhythm, partly through SIRT1 activation. β-Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is used to study binding motifs within RNA aptamers and ribozyme activation processes involving β-nicotinamide mononucleotide (β-NMN)-activated RNA fragments. Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is a co-factor in the synthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. NMN is a precursor to NAD+ and can be found in trace amounts in foods such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, green beans, and meat. In vitro studies have shown that NMN has a protective effect on axonal growth and may play a role in the treatment of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. Nicotinamide mononucleotide also plays an important role in energy metabolism by regulating mitochondrial membrane potential and cellular physiology. The low-dose group of rats administered with NMN showed increased expression of genes related to oxidative injury, which may indicate its use for the treatment of diseases caused by oxidative stress such as Parkinson's disease.
