Potent antibiotic. Bacteriocidin. Antibacterial. Broad spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Herbicidal. Enterocin is a small molecular weight secondary metabolite and should not be confused with bacterial proteins isolated from Enterococci generically referred to as "enterocins".
