Quisqualic Acid (beta-(3,5-Dioxo-1,2,4-oxadiazolidin-2-yl)-L-alanine, 3-(3,5-Dioxo-1,2,4-oxadiazolidin-2-yl)-L-alanine)
A potent agonist highly selective for group I (EC50 ≤3uM) over group II and III mGlu receptors (EC50 >40uM) and a potent agonist of AMPA receptors. Often used for inducing excitotoxic lesions of basal forebrain cholinergic neurons and spinal neurons.
