Calcium Sulfate

Calcium Sulfate is used in the biofilm prevention and management of gram-negative bacterial pathogens involved in periprosthetic infection by using antibiotic-loaded calcium sulfate beads in vitro. Calcium Sulfate is used in the bioactive calcium sulfate-based formulation “Biocas” for bone filler applications. Calcium Sulfate is also used as an antibiotic impregnated calcium sulphate in combination with internal fixation for the treatment of open fractures of extremities that prevents infections and promotes the healing of fractures.
