1-Amino-2,4-dibromo-anthraquinone is a useful compound to study the uPAR·uPA protein-protein interaction (PPI) involved in signaling and proteolytic events that lead to tumor invasion and metastasis. It is also used to evaluate potential renal toxicants based on a relationship between chemical-induced kidney weight gain and kidney histopathology in rats. 1-Amino-2,4-dibromo-anthraquinone is a reagent utilized in copper-catalyzed Ullmann condensation to synthesize anthraquinone derivatives as novel dyes.
