2-[[(1,1-Dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]-N-[2-[[(1,1-dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]ethyl]-ethanamine is used in the synthesis of indenoisoquinolines, a class of noncamptothecin topoisomerase I inhibitors which displays significant cytotoxicity in human cancer cell cultures. Also, it is an intermediate used in the synthesis of N-Methyldiethanolamine-d3 Hydrochloride (M301626), which is an isotopically labeled salt form of N-Methyldiethanolamine (M301625), which is used as a reagent in the synthesis of broad-spectrum antimicrobial polycarbonate hydrogels with fast degradability. It is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of dihydroxy quaternary ammonium salts with long chain alkyl bromides that can exhibit antibacterial and antifungal activity.
