2-Amino-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine can be used to synthesize 3-amino-imidazopyridines through a one-step process using microwave-assisted four-component coupling. It can also be utilized to develop (Thienopyrimidin-2-yl)aminopyrimidines, which have implications as a potent and selective inhibitors of PI3K or both PI3K and mTOR.
