It can be used to synthesize aminobenzhydrol derivatives containing pendant cyclic amines as inhibitors of squalene synthase and cholesterol synthase. It can also be used to prepare aryl aminopyrazole benzamides as oral non-steroidal selective glucocorticoid receptor agonists.
