Used for the production of alkyd resins, lithium greases, lithium soaps, lithium stearate and lithium salts. It finds application as a carbon dioxide adsorbent in breathing gas purification systems for spacecrafts, submarines and rebreathers; as a storage-battery electrolyte; as a heat transfer medium and as a catalyst for polymerization reaction. It is also used in ceramics and some portland cement formulations.

Storage and Stability
Store at RT. Air sensitive and hygroscopic. Keep the container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with moisture, strong oxidizing agents, strong acids and carbon dioxide.
