Biotin-labeled Nucleotides are used for non-fluorescent labeling of nucleic acids in purification and detection applications.

Applications

Suitable for use in DNA labeling by PCR with taq polymerase, DNA labeling by nick translation with DNase I, DNA labeling by primer extention with Klenow 3’-5’ exo-, 3’ end DNA labeling with terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), cDNA labeling by reverse transcription with Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions

Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Spectroscopic Properties

Wavelength max: 240/289nm Extinction coefficient: 10.7/7.11 mmol-1 cm-1 (Tris-HCl, pH 7.5)

Storage and Stability

Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
