Pimecrolimus (Elidel, SDZ-ASM-981, D05480)

Pimecrolimus, a rapamycin (sirolimus) derivative, is a cell-selective inhibitor of inflammatory cytokines developed for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, such as allergic contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, plaque-type psoriasis, and irritant contact dermatitis. It reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines in T cells and mast cells and inhibits the release of preformed inflammatory mediators from mast cells.

Solubility
Soluble in DMSO and ethanol, up to about 25mg/ml.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
