Potassium Carbonate is a common chemical reagent used in various organic reactions. It is used, for example, in the synthesis of Diazoxon; the oxidized form of Diazinon which is an organophosphate insecticide. Diazoxon is shown to be a more potent acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor.
