CD117 (c-Kit, p145, Steel Factor Receptor, Stem Cell Factor Receptor (SCF-Receptor), Mast Cell Growth Factor Receptor) (APC)
This monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein of 145kD, identified as CD117/p145kit. It is found on a wide variety of tumor cells including follicular and papillary carcinoma of thyroid, adenocarcinomas from endometrium, lung, ovary, pancreas, and breast as well as malignant melanoma, endodermal sinus tumor, and small cell carcinoma. However, anti-CD117 has been particularly useful in differentiating gastrointestinal stromal tumors from Kaposi's sarcoma, tumors of smooth muscle origin, fibromatosis, and neural tumors of the GI tract. Anti-CD117 is also useful in recognizing myeloblasts in bone marrow biopsy and clot section.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) or testicular germ cell tumor. Melanocytes in the basal layer of the epidermis and mast cells in the dermis of normal skin.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. APC is light sensitive.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
