Sunitinib (as the malate salt) is the active ingredient in the drug sold under the trade name Sutent. This drug is a small molecule receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has been approved in at least one country for the treatment of patients having gastrointestinal stromal tumors or renal cell carcinomas.

Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO or EtOH. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
