Functional Antibodies In Vivo Studies

Antibodies displaying an agonist or antagonist activity are powerful tools for mimicking or blocking physiological functions in vitro and in vivo. Functional grade antibodies are available free of preservatives and tested for low endotoxin content and may be used for activation, neutralizing or blocking studies, both in vitro or in vivo.

Examples of these specific function antibodies include:

• ZIKV E Protein Neutralizing Antibody
• Recognizes and binds specifically to the EDIII domain of the Zika Virus envelope protein (ZIKV E). No cross-reaction with Dengue virus envelope protein (DENV E).
• Functional Application (Neutralizing): Neutralizes Zika Virus (ZIKV) with an IC50 of ~93ng/ml. Enhances ZIKV infection in non-permissive K562 cells at a broad range of concentrations (not above 1µg/ml).
• BAFF Blocking Antibody
• Highly potent in blocking mouse BAFF in vivo. Induces B cell depletion and generates a phenotype similar to that observed in BAFF-/- mice.
• Angiopoietin-2 Blocking Antibody
• Recognizes human & mouse angiopoietin-2. Does not detect human angiopoietin-1.
• Functional Application (Blocking): Inhibits the binding of mouse angiopoietin-2 to mouse Tie-2. Inhibits the binding of human angiopoietin-2 to human Tie-2.
• ADAM17 Blocking Antibody
• Recognizes the catalytic and non-catalytic domain of human ADAM17 (TACE) through its variable light (VL) domain and variable heavy (VH) domain, respectively. Does not bind recombinant mouse ADAM17 ectodomain.
• Functional Application (Blocking): Inhibits ADAM17 activity at 15μg/ml (200nM).
