| Steroid receptors are ligand-dependent intracellular proteins that stimulate transcription of specific genes by binding to specific DNA sequences following activation by the appropriate hormone. Androgen receptors (AR) have been found in a variety of tissues, including reproductive organs, central nervous system and skeletal muscle. | | | Catalog # | A2281-10 | | Applications | | | Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunocytochemistry: 5ug/ml | | Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin): 4ug/ml | | Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Detects an ~110kD protein representing androgen receptor in Human tissues. Immunohistochemical staining of androgen receptor in primate hypothalamus with this antibody results in intense nuclear staining. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 4i297 | | Host | Rat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.05% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | A 241 amino acid fusion protein derived from human androgen receptor. Cellular location: nuclear. | | Specificity | Recognizes human Androgen receptor. Does not crossreact with estrogen, progesterone or glucocorticoid receptors. Species Crossreactivity: rat, mouse and primate. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
