Steroid receptors are ligand-dependent intracellular proteins that stimulate transcription of specific genes by binding to specific DNA sequences following activation by the appropriate hormone. Androgen receptors (AR) have been found in a variety of tissues, including reproductive organs, central nervous system and skeletal muscle.

Applications
	Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution	Immunocytochemistry: 5ug/ml
	Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin): 4ug/ml
	Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Detects an ~110kD protein representing androgen receptor in Human tissues. Immunohistochemical staining of androgen receptor in primate hypothalamus with this antibody results in intense nuclear staining.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer
