| BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T cells and macrophages. It manifests no activity on neutrophils and monocytes. | | | Catalog # | B0395-07A | | Source | Recombinant corresponding to 86aa from mouse BLC expressed in E. coli. | | Molecular Weight | ~9.8kD | | Endotoxin | 0.1ng/ug | | Biological Activity | The biological activity was determined by measuring dose-dependent chemotaxis with murine B lymphocytes. A concentration range of 10-100ng/ml produced significant chemotaxis. BLC, a CXC chemokine, regulates B cell migration to and within lymphoid follicles in most secondary lymphoid organs. The receptor for BLC is CXCR5. | | Storage and Stability | Store at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, 0.1-1% BSA. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | Molecular Weight | 9.8kD | | Source | E. coli | | Purity | ~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Purified by sequential chromatography. | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a sterile filtered lyophilized powder, carrier free. Reconstitute in sterile, ddH2O, 0.1-1% BSA to 0.5-1mg/mL. Further dilutions should be made in aqueous buffers. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
