| Humans are exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from occupational, environmental, and medical sources. Benzo[a]pyrene is a carcinogenic PAH found in cigarette smoke, heavily polluted air and smoked foods. A diol epoxide derivative of benzo[a]pyrene, 7 , 8 -dihydroxyn -9 ,10 -epoxy-7,8,9,10-tetrahydrobenzo[a]pyrene (BPDE-I) has been implicated as the key mutagenic benzo[a]pyrene metabolite involved in covalent modification of DNA. | | | Catalog # | B1074A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1,k | | Clone No | 9H69 | | Host | Mouse | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 50% glycerol. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | BPDE-I-G coupled to BSA | | Specificity | Recognizes both free polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and DNA adducts. In an inhibition assay, the binding of B1074A to BPDE adducts was inhibited by BPDE-1-DNA, BPDE-1-dG, BPDE-1 tetraol, but not by BPDE-II-DNA. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
