Brilliant Green 2% Bile Broth is used to confirm the presence of coliforms. Oxbile and Brilliant Green inhibit Gram positive bacteria and many Gram negative bacteria other than coliforms. Lactose is a carbohydrate source. Bacteria that ferment lactose and produce gas are detected. This medium is formulated according to AOAC specifications.

Storage and Stability
Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept at 4°C and used within a short period of time.

Directions
1. Dissolve 40grams per liter of distilled/ deionized (DDI) water, heating with stirring until completely solubilized.
2. Dispense into appropriate containers, loosen caps and autoclave for 15 minutes at 121ºC (15psi).
