| CD24 is a single chain glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface sialoglycoprotein. Expressed early in B lymphocytes ontogeny and lost at the plasma cell stage. In contrast, CD24 antigen is absent from T lymphocytes, NK cells, monocytes, erythrocytes and platelets. | | | Catalog # | C2275-07 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry and studies of peripheral blood B cells. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry/Immunocytochemistry: Cryostat sections or cell smears | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Hybridoma | Myeloma NS1/Ag.4.1with Balb/c spleen cells. | | Source | Ascites | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Reconstitute with 1ml ddH2O. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Human bone marrow malignant cells from a non-B, non-T acute leukemia. MW: 35-45kD. | | Specificity | Recognizes human CD 24. Recognizes B cells from pre-B stage to mature-B stage, the majority of normal medullar granulous cells, peripheral blood polymorphonuclear cells, non-T, non-B acute lymphoblastic leukemias, some atypic or myeloid leukemias or B chronic lymphocytic leukemias and two-thirds of Epstein-Barr virus transformed cell lines. Epitope specific literature citation (3) identifies binding to the non-glycosylated GPI anchor of the protein core of the cluster-w4/CD24. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
