The Thy-1 antigen is found on a variety of cell types including thymocytes, neuronal cells, T-Lymphocytes (mouse), stem cells and immature B cells (rat) and connective tissue.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100. Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma
NS1 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.
Recommended Negative Control
I1904-78Y: IgG1, Murine Negative Control (For rat tissue)
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Rat Thy1 antigen
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes rat CD90 also known as Thy1.1. Thy1.1 is a monomorphic determinant in rat but polymorphic in mice. Reacts with Thy1.1 mice e.g. AKR and FVB mice, but not Thy1.2 mice such as CBA and BALB/c. Species Crossreactivity: mouse, guinea pig and rabbit
