| Type V collagen is a minor component of the connective tissue, although it is present in many different types of connective tissue. Patients with defects in the type V collagen (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome) have weakend connective tissue characterized by hyperstrechable joints and fragile, easily bruisable skin. |

| Catalog # | C7510-57H |
| Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. |
| Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:50. Binds poorly to Collagen V when tested in ELISA with Collagen V coated directly onto the microtiter well. |
| Immunohistochemistry: Has been used successfully on paraffin embedded and frozen, unfixed sections of human, bovine and canine skin, on rabbit and fetal bovine cornea and of new canine tissue associated with a biomaterial implant. If fixation of tissue is required, acetone or ethanol is recommended. |
| Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. |
| Culure Medium | RPMI 1640 with 10% fetal calf serum |
| Hybridoma | NS1/1.Ag4.1. Female SJL/J mice, immunized i.p. with antigen adsorbed onto Al(OH)3. |
| Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
