Detection of C3 deposits in tissue, cells, microorganisms and immune complexes. It should be used with positive control anti-C3b. Nonactivated, absorbed C3 contains the C3a determinant, whereas activated C3 is negative with this clone.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:10, Incubate for 1hr at RT. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma
Spleen cells from immunized Balb/c mice were fused with cells of the non-secreting P3-X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cell line.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Human complement component C3.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 0.5% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile ddH2O.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes a human C3a-determinant (C3 alpha-chain) which is also present on native C3. Allows discrimination of ubiquitous or nonspecifically bound native C3 from biologically active C3b fragment. Negative with C3b or C. Species Crossreactivity: guinea pig and rabbit
