Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E B IH IC
C5 is involved in the activation of the lythic pathway within the complement system which is an important factor in innate immunity. The complement pathways can be divided in the activation pathways and lytic pathway. The activation pathways lead via C3 to the cleavage of the fifth complement component C5 into C5a and C5b. C5b initiates the assembly of the membrane attack complex (MAC) that mediates cytolysis.
Catalog #C7850-30A
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionImmunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:10. Incubation time 1hr at RT.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Clone TypeMonoclonal
Clone No5F208
FormSupplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile dH2O.
PurityPurified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
ImmunogenActivated human complement component C5.
SpecificityRecognizes human C5b-9 complexes via activated C5, especially in different forms of glomerulonephritis. Does not react with native C5 (See C7850-23). Normal fresh and activated serum subjected to SDS-PAGE Western Blot (nonreduced), visualizes reactivity with the SDS-denatured C5 (200kD) abd C5b (185kD), the latter together with a faint cleavage product (60kD) only after activation.
Species CrossreactivityPrimates, bovine, porcine and goat.
