Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E B
Factor B is a component of the alternative complement pathway. The protein is a single chain polypeptide with a molecular mass of 93kD. Factor B is cleaved by factor D into the Ba component (30kD) and the Bb (63kD). Bb together with C3b forms the alternative pathway C3 convertase C3bBb. Plasma concentration is approximately 200ug/ml.
Catalog #C7850-61
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsWestern Blot: Recognizes the Bb fragment of factor
B in its non-reduced form only.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
HybridomaX63-Ag8.653, female CF1xBALB/c mice immunized by intraperitoneal injection.
Culture MediumDulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium with 10% fetal calf serum.

Concentration~1mg/ml
FormSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 15mM sodium azide.
PurityPurified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
ImmunogenComplement factor B isolated from human plasma.
SpecificityRecognizes the Bb fragment of human factor B. Antibody binding abolishes the formation of C3bBb complexes. In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE, it reacts with the Bb fragment of factor B in non-reduced form only. After coupling to an activated CNBr-sepharose column, this antibody is suitable for affinity purification of human factor B. Epitope specificity differs from that of C7850-63. Also differs from C7850-60 but slightly overlaps as determined by inhibition ELISA.
