Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml using Chemiluminescence technique. The antibodies detected proteins of ~63-65kD in rat lens. The same set of bands were detected by anti-MP70. ELISA: 1:10K-100K using 50-100ng of the control peptide per well. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Control Peptide
C7859-05B Connexin 50, Mouse Control Peptide
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
A 13aa peptide sequence within the 2nd cytoplasmic domain (between 2nd and 3rd transmembrane domain) (KLH).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% BSA, 40% glycerol.
Purity
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Reecognizes mouse Connexin 50 (CX50, Gap Junction Alpha 8 Protein, CXA-8, Lens Fiber Protein MP70). Species sequence homology: rat 100%. No reactivity observed with other connexins.
