Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 0.1–1.0ug/ml Western Blotting: 1–3ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 5–10ug
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
An 11 amino acid synthetic peptide derived from the extreme C-terminus of the human CUL1 protein. This peptide sequence is identical to Drosophila CUL1 (LIN-19) in 9/11 positions and in 7/11 residues with the CUL1 C. elegans and Dictyostelium discoidium homologs.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Specific for the 86kD CUL-1 protein and does not crossreact with the related CUL2 protein. Antibody reactivity has been confirmed by Western blotting and immunoprecipitation using both recombinanat CUL1 protein and cell lysates. Reacts with human CUL1. Reactivity with other species is possible based on sequence homology but has not been tested.
