Influenza viruses are common and widely spread infectious agents. Like many other viruses, influenza virus are constantly undergoing mutations and thereby avoiding the immune system.

Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

SpecificityReacts with influenza B virus nucleoprotein. No crossreaction is seen with influenza A infected patient samples or purified influenza A virus. Epitope differs from that of clone 6F135 as determined by inhibition ELISA.
Suitable as capture antibody in combination with clone 6F135 as detecting antibody in sandwich ELISA (1). In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE reacts with influenza B viral nucloeprotein (NP). Reacts with influenza B infected, acetone-fixed Vero cells when diluted 11000. Specific binding can be visualized by immunofluorescence using a polyclonal anti-mouse Ig antibody labeled with for example fluorescein.
