Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E B
Leptin, a 16kD protein, is the product of the ob (obese) gene, is a 16kD protein consisting of 146 amino acid residues. Leptin is produced in the adipose tissue and is considered to play an important role in apetite control, fat metabolism and regulation of body weight. It targets the central nervous system, particularly hypothalamus, affecting food intake. Leptin levels are high in most obese individuals. Studies have shown that it may also influence reproductive function.
Catalog #L1670-22B
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:100,000 (for antibody concentration at 1mg/ml)
Use 1ug/ml human leptin to coat the plate. The antibody titer was determined by indirect ELISA using recombinant human leptin immobilized on the surface of a microtitrate plate (50 ng/well). The titer was defined by the inflexion point of the titration curve.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
