| Mer, an Axl type tyrosine kinase, contains a cell adhesion molecule-related extracellular domain. Mutation of Mer results in defective phagocytosis of photoreceptor outer segments by the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and retinal degeneration. In addition, Mer has been suggested to be critical for the engulfment and efficient clearance of apoptotic cells. This has implications for inflammation and autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus. | | | Catalog # | M2995-06A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
