| PR domain containing 1a (prdm-1a) is a transcription factor essential for the specification of slow twitch muscle fibers that derive from adaxial cells in zebrafish. Prdm-1 acts as a transcriptional repressor in mediating the transcriptional repressor sox-6, which activates slow-twitch specific muscle gene expression. Zebrafish prdm-1 exhibits a dynamic and evolutionarily conserved expression pattern. Prdm-1 has been shown to be necessary for zebrafish forelimb development. The zebrafish narrowminded (nrd) mutation, which leads to absence of Rohon-Beard neurons and a reduction in neural crest cells and their derivatives, is a mutation in prdm-1. | | | Catalog # | P5750-01V | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
