Neuropeptide Y is a peptide belonging to the PP-family and occurs in neurons and adrenal medullary cells.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunofluorescence: 1:400-1:800 with overnight incubation at 4°C. Immunohistochemistry: frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
Stefanini-fixed sections of rat small intestine.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic Prepro-NPY 68-97 (C-PON). Raised using a synthetic peptide from the prepro-NPY sequence which has no homologies to PP and NPY.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with 50-100ul of sterile ddH2O. Dilute further in 0.1M PBS, 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide.
Specificity
Recognizes Preproneuropeptide Y. Antisera raised against NPY often crossreact with PP and PYY. Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining. Species Crossreactivity: human and rat.
