| Protein S is a vitamin K-dependent, potent neutral anticoagulant plasma glycoprotein. Protein S has a molecular weight of approximately 70kD and consists of a single polypeptide chain. The concentration of protein S in human plasma is 25ug/ml, with a half-life of approximately two days. About 40% of protein S in plasma is in a free form, wheraes 60% is complexed with C4b-binding Protein (C4BP). Only the free protein S functions as a cofactor to antigen presenting cells (APC) in the APC-dependent degradation of Factor Va and Factor VIIIa. | | | Catalog # | P9108-06C | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA. Not suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Hybridoma | X63-Ag8.653: Female CF1 Balb/c mice immunized by intraperitoneal injection. | | Culture Medium | RPMI 1640 with 10% fetal calf serum. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG2b,k | | Clone No | 6F185 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 15mM sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Protein S isolated from human plasma. | | Specificity | Recognizes human Protein S. Reacts strongly with Protein S. Strong reaction is seen in sandwich ELISA in combination with a biotin-labeled antibody against protein S. Reactivity is Ca2+ dependent and is optimal when using Tris buffer containing 1mM calcium chloride. In Dot Blot, SDS-treatment abolishes the reactivity. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
