Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E
Protein S is a vitamin K-dependent, potent neutral anticoagulant plasma glycoprotein. Protein S has a molecular weight of approximately 70kD and consists of a single polypeptide chain. The concentration of protein S in human plasma is 25ug/ml, with a half-life of approximately two days. About 40% of protein S in plasma is in a free form, wheraes 60% is complexed with C4b-binding Protein (C4BP). Only the free protein S functions as a cofactor to antigen presenting cells (APC) in the APC-dependent degradation of Factor Va and Factor VIIIa.

Clone TypeMonoclonal
Clone No6F185
FormSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 15mM sodium azide.
PurityPurified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.
ImmunogenProtein S isolated from human plasma.
SpecificityRecognizes human Protein S. Reacts strongly with Protein S. Strong reaction is seen in sandwich ELISA in combination with a biotin-labeled antibody against protein S. Reactivity is Ca2+ dependent and is optimal when using Tris buffer containing 1mM calcium chloride. In Dot Blot, SDS-treatment abolishes the reactivity.
