Tau is a heterogeneous group of proteins that are involved in microtubule assembly. In healthy brain tissue tau is localised to the axons of neurons. Hyperphosphorylated tau is a major component of paired helical filaments in Alzheimer’s disease brain. Serine 416 is a major phosphorylation site.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
