ATG5 (Autophagy Protein 5, APG5-like, Apoptosis-specific Protein, APG5L, ASP) |
|
|
Description: Atg5 (Autophagy protein 5) is required for autophagy. It conjugates to ATG12 and associates with isolation membrane to form cup-shaped isolation membrane and autophagosome. The conjugate detaches from the membrane immediately before or after autophagosome formation is completed. Atg5 may also play an important role in the apoptotic process, possibly within the modified cytoskeleton. Its expression is a relatively late event in the apoptotic process, occurring downstream of caspase activity. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:100-10,000 Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:250 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:100-1:250 Immunoprecipitation: 1:10 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Raji, HeLa, HT-1080, fetal kidney, C6, Raw264.7, PC-12, and NIH/3T3 cell lysates Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
