ABCB5 (ATP-binding Cassette Sub-family B Member 5, ABCB5 P-gp, P-gp P-glycoprotein ABCB5) |
|
|
Description: ABCB5 (ATP-binding cassette, subfamily B [DR/TAP] member 5) is a 90kD (predicted MW) member of the human P-glycoprotein family of molecules. It is expressed by CD133+ pluripotent pigment stem cells, where it serves as a marker for cells that show a high incidence of polyploidy. Human ABCB5 is 812aa in length. It is possibly a five transmembrane protein with a 247aa N-terminal extracellular domain (ECD) aa1-247 and a 283aa C-terminal cytoplasmic region aa530-812. The ECD contains one ABC transporter aa2-177, while the cytoplasmic region contains a second ABC transporter aa570-808. There are two potential splice forms. One shows a seven aa substitution for aa125-812, while another possesses an alternative start site 445aa upstream of the standard site. Over aa141-247, human ABCB5 shares 64aa identity with mouse ABCB5. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:4000 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 2.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
