Description: Adiponectin, also termed gelatin-binding protein-28 (GBP28), AdipoQ, ACP30 (Acrp30), or apM, is a major adipocyte-secreted adipokine which abundantly present in the circulation as three distinct oligomeric complexes: LMW (67kD), MMW (167kD) and HMW (300kD) adiponectin. Its levels are decreased in insulin resistant, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Conversely, elevation of circulating adiponectin concentrations can alleviate various vascular dysfunctions in animal models, suggesting this adipokine exerts vasculoprotective effects. In addition, adiponectin may also be of importance in the development and progression of several malignancies. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
