Adenosine Receptor A2A |
|
|
Description: Adenosine receptors, a class of purinergic G-protein coupled receptors with adenosine as endogenous ligands mediate several receptor subtype-specific physiological processes that include cardiac rate, smooth muscle tone, platelet aggregation, inflammation, cell growth and death, and neurotransmission. The activity of A2A adenosine receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. It is abundant in basal ganglia, vasculature and platelets and it is a major target of caffeine. Adenosine receptor A2A-R contributes to motoneuron survival by transactivating the tyrosine kinase receptor TrkB and may suggest a new strategy for using this mechanism in neurodegenerative diseases. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000. Detects Adenosine Receptor A2A in HEK293 cells expressing canine A1/A2A receptor chimeras. Immunohistochemistry: 1ug/ml. Detects Adenosine Receptor A2A in paraformaldehyde-fixed mouse brain striatal sections. Not detected in Adenosine Receptor A2A knockout mice. Flow Cytometry: Detects Adenosine Receptor A2A in transfected HEK293 cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
